There’s far too much media involvement for that to happen today without it being all over the internet, which there isn’t much. What happened in Vietnam was what happens when you take a military composed of off-the-street conscripts to a guerrilla war. Today’s US Military is volunteer and trained properly.
The US military focuses on survivability. If you consider it acceptable to treat US soldiers as expendable wastes of money then I don’t think you grasp the basic ideas of US strategies.

1st. bomb the drop zone there, regardless if there is any enemy present or not, bomb for like hours or days, sometimes weeks. They spend alot of money just to save their men, who were suppose to be ready to die in combat. its like shooting million dollars into nothing at all. you call that face to face?
